Reading is an extremely important part in the Chinese course, which is the approach for students to know the world, develop their thinking and gain aesthetic experience.'Overall perception'and'close reading'are two important and efficient teaching methods in Chinese reading teaching. If the two can be unified in the reading teaching, students can get the better result in reading. The paper starts with the relationship between'overall perception'and'close reading'and then the concludes that the two interact with each other ----'overall perception'restricts'close reading'while'close reading'can reconstruct'overall perception', and they run through the whole text and affect the text reading. On this basis, the approach of the efficient combination between'overall perception'and'close reading'is analyzed and attempted. That is to ask students to comment the man and the world when reading to grasp the whole text, ask the students to experience the author's emotion and express their own feelings, ask students to read forward and backward all the time to taste the art of the language, ask students to compare and experience to get the further comprehension of the text.
