Phenomena like heavily relying on teaching reference books in new-lesson preparation and superficial understanding of the text exist among Chinese teachers.Under such circumstances,scholars including Wang Xianpei,Sun Shaozhen and so on transfer close reading,a method of literary criticism into a method of text analysis by applying it in teaching Chinese.They emphasize that teachers should bear the curiosity and patience to analyze the details of the text,pay attention to the internal contradictions,deeply explore the connotation of the text and transfer them into teaching content so as to enhance the ability to interpret the text.To understand the cognition and practice of Chinese teachers towards close reading in senior high school,this article takes Guangzhou Chinese teachers as an example and conducts research with methods like literature analysis,questionnaire,interview,etc.The research implies that a majority of teachers lack sufficient theoretical cognition of close reading,their willing to read contradicts with the reality and they know little about the specific strategy for close reading.Therefore,the article puts forward corresponding strategies from the perspective of teachers.To enhance cognition of close reading,teachers should read more relevant works,master close reading skill,and lay a solid theoretical foundation.To facilitate teaching practice,in addition to having their own understanding,teachers should also learn from other excellent text analysis works,analyze the students and apply appropriate method under different situations.Only in this way,can personal understanding of the text facilitate teaching practice.Through practice,investigation and research,this article aims to understand Chinese teachers’ strengths and weakness with regard to close reading,and seeks practical and effective strategies for Chinese teachers in senior high school so as to promote teachers and facilitate Chinese reading lessons.
