"Repay as much as you can for even a little bit of favor you have received"has existed since ancient times . In the modern society we are moved by the story of Huangge's trip again. Lack of affection, goodness and gratitude between the people is the biggest enemy of building a harmonic society. Today the education about gratitude is of great importance. But now the consciousness of gratitude and reward of Chinese students is gradually degenerating, even totally disappears. As history teachers, we should take full advantage of history and discover the essence of the Chinese traditional culture and contain the education about gratitude and reward into history teaching.In writing the preface of this article mainly analyzes the reason, the present situation and the trend of choosing this topic. The innovative point is the proposition about how to make use of the history resource to have the education of gratitude as a history teacher in a middle school. The whole composition is made up of five parts. The main content is as follow:The first part further defines the concept of gratitude by describing the stories of gratitude at all times and in all countries. The second discusses the expression and reason why today middle school students are lacking the consciousness of gratitude. On the part of the expression, it mainly discusses the students, disregard for the lives of themselves and others, lack of social responsibility, and on the basis of this it further analyzes the reasons of this lack. The reasons are summarized in the following several reasons, such as family, school, social and other factors. Family is largely responsible for it and school has an inescapable responsibility. The most effective propose solution is that the three should educate students together to train their sense of gratitude. The third part puts forward the necessities of facing the new formal education of gratitude. From theory to practice, it expounds that gratitude education is necessary to middle school students during their puberty, when they are in the special stage of age, psychology and physical development. The fourth part is the key point of this article. It mainly expounds how to make use of the rich historical resource to have the education of gratitude towards the students. Focusing on the excavation of the essence of Chinese traditional culture, we should educate students how to make themselves worthy of parenting, inculcation, understanding and appreciation, creation and our motherland by blending the education of gratitude and mercy in history teaching. Starting from the love of parents, teach students to love people and social, have historical mission and social responsibility and build a harmonious society, so as to improve the overall quality of the Chinese nation. The fifth part proposes the points that we should pay attention to in history teaching on the basis of the previous expositions. In the use of traditional Chinese culture for gratitude education, we should pay attention to the essence side and the dross side of the traditional Chinese culture and inherit them critically. In the implementation of gratitude education, we should make good use of classroom, putting the school culture, school-based curriculum and practice into classroom teaching appropriately. In this process, all positive factors such as good environment, parents' cooperation and teacher's guide can be brought into.In the conclusion part, it summarizes the significance and prospect of gratitude education. At the same time, it gives some suggestions to an average history teacher and reiterates the importance of discovering the resources in history teaching.
