In the 21st century, global economy and social development tend to be informationizational, and education informationization and IT education have become important factors for promoting education development and reform. In 2001, the Ministry of Education clearly proposed to realize universal information-based education in elementary and secondary schools throughout the country, to promote education modernization through informationization, thus achieving spanning development in the area of elementary education in our country. To enhance education reform and development of creative students at school by IT, teachers and students need corresponding IT skills to address educational problems. So, how to develop the IT abilities of teachers and students and how to effectively apply IT to teaching has become an important education issue. In the new century, IT, whose core is information and network, is a major engine for knowledge transmission and application, and unprecedented changes are coming in China's education aspect.In early 21century, Henan province start the program of education informationization, and great achievements have been made in elementary and secondary IT education throughout the province. However, certain problems need to deal with. For example, due to economic reasons, from the whole, IT quality of elementary and secondary students in villages is relatively low, and it badly needs improvement. By sample investigation, the author studies how well IT teaching is going in some typical elementary and secondary schools in villages, and after some analysis, she gives several conclusions. First, IT curriculum is a tool subject involving knowledge and skills, which demands more for teachers'professional qualities and suggests that we should pay attention to develop students'awareness of and interests in IT. Second, we should make a distinction between IT education and computers skills teaching, and keep in mind that IT education is to develop students'IT quality, that is to say, informational facilities such as computers are only tools. Third, we should pay attention to IT teaching management, apply more than one training method and intensify teacher professional development in order to help teachers form correct understanding about modern education.The analysis based on actual surveys which provide new ideas and direction for IT education in Henan rural schools , It promoted the development of information technology education in Henan Rural Schools. The gap is Containment which between Urban and rural areas of Henan information technology education in rural schools.
