The middle school English teaching level depends on the level of English teachers, especially English teachers' professional quality improvement. For varieties of reasons,the differences of professional quality between the rural junior middle school English teachers and the urban school teachers have always been there, which affects children in the countryside by education level of English.This topic focuses on jiangyin rural junior middle school English teachers' professional development status. Making it the research object, the topic puts forward subjects in the background, significance, research status, concept definition.Afterwards, the author makes use of 6 rural junior middle schools in jiangyin city as a case study, makes questionnaires with all the English teachers in the six middle schools, and then makes random interviews with some of the teachers. Through analysis and comparison ,the auther draws a conclusion of what the present situation of English teachers' professional improvement is like in jiangyin rural junior middle schools.In order to improve jiangyin rural junior middle school English teacher's professional quality, the author suggests:the teachers should improve the professional ethics, change educational thought, improve teaching behavior,and strengthen internal driving force; The schools should innovate teachers' training methods, increase the school-based training dynamics,and increase the school-based research strength; And the government should actively create conditions for the rural English teachers' professional development in the policy level, and provide an effective platform.
