In the year of 2004, the teaching material of the Chinese language of high school of Jiangsu Province (the Jiangsu edition) emerged with the new course reformation. The Jiangsu edition is based on the concepts of"highlighting human-being","following principles","valuing integration","guiding learning"and"advocating opening". Rooted to the students'mental development, the compulsory part of the Jiangsu edition included 22 units which focus on humanity, mainly three aspects"human and himself","human and society"and"human and nature". What's more, the arrangement of the teaching material has something creative, that is, with some course-based learning methods, such as"studying the textbook","discussing the problem"and"experiencing the activity", the compulsory part makes it possible for teachers and students to make choices and leaves more room for them to make creation in an open and flexible manner.However, some problems have come out during the use of the Jiangsu edition. Firstly, it overdoes in humanity, which weakens the use of the material as a tool itself. Secondly, it requires students to grasp masses of contents within a comparatively limited time. Thirdly, the arrangement of the classical Chinese language doesn't obey the law of learning. Fourthly, the training of writing is out of order. Fifthly, the Jiangsu edition doesn't provide effective and practical exercises. Last but not least, there's just one learning method, which may dull the students.The editors of the Jiangsu edition expects teachers to solve the above problems by means of"teaching with the material instead of teaching the material", which in fact requires teachers to reunite the teaching material according to the reality, in others words, give the edition a"second exploit and development". My thesis is mainly about the researches on the second exploit and development of the Jiangsu edition by means of my practice on"teaching with the material".Based on the theory of the second exploit and development and with the link of the teaching practice, my thesis puts forward my interpretation in the teaching course and common approaches to the Jiangsu edition. Then, I list the methods and noting points in the aspects of the classical Chinese language, composition and after-class exercises, which few teachers and experts have noticed and made enough researches on. In addition, my thesis refers to the influence of the second exploit and development of the Jiangsu edition on the research study of the Chinese language, students'language quality and teachers'improvement.
