| The college newspaper not only takes the responsibility for the propaganda of the Party and government's principle, policy and line, but also acts as a window to display the construction and development of university reform. Meanwhile, it plays a significant role in media guide, communication, academic lead, cultural transmission, historical heritage, service and education, etc., offering the university reform spiritual power, public support and intellectual protection. The functions of college newspaper such as spreading information, guiding public opinion, entertaining, and constructing culture, etc. are all based on its educating, which is regarded as the aim and soul of running a newspaper.This thesis researches on the educating functions for talents cultivation from ideological education, knowledge education, culture education, and practice education. By surveying the newspaper contents and doing questionnaires from 8 colleges and universities of Changzhou, Jiangsu, this thesis is to prove that college newspaper will realize its four functions respectively by theory propaganda and guiding of public opinion, teaching and scientific research and comprehensive information, typical demonstration and art work appreciating, and interviewing and contributing as well as editing and publishing. However, the realization of educating function is not very perfect. To solve the problems, this thesis puts forward some effective solutions to strengthen the educational functions of college newspaper under new situation as following: improving service and sticking to the"Three Adjoins"principle of a newspaper; advancing interaction and bringing its educating functions of college newspaper into full play; forging a new college newspapers brand and innovating the contents and forms of college newspaper; perfecting its management system and integrating media resources on campus; and enhancing the construction of the team and heightening their comprehensive qualities. |
