Taking advantage of the opportunities of market economy after reform and opening up and social transformation, China's higher education quickly completes the historic leap from being the elite to being the mass. At the same time, a series of problems of college teacher-student relationship is gradually being one of the hot topics. In addition, it is the subject of study of education, sociology, psychology, ideological and political education and so on.Firstly, as far as the research significance is concerned, it is necessary to study college teacher-student relationship in order to construct harmonious campus. It is good for ideological and political education activities. Furthermore, it provides theoretical basis for prompting teaching reform and improving cultivation quality. By careful questionnaire and field interviews, it is found that students and teachers in colleges all expect harmonious teacher-student relationship. Although they are satisfied with their relationship, there is lack of communication, even there is contradiction.Secondly, college teach-student relationship is affected by more complicated factors. From the macro point of view, development of market economy prompts industrialization of higher education, which shocks college teacher-student relationship. To a large extent, college teachers and students are concerned of their own interests. They are practical and they focus on the immediate earnings, ignoring of interpersonal communication. On the other hand, being the mass of higher education brings degeneration of education quality. The expansion model, teaching model and difficulty of employment all impede the college teacher-student relationship. From the micro point of view, time changes of social role of college teachers and students make college teachers lose their role and students face role changes brought by information reception model. Therefore, image of college teachers and students are interfered and damaged by each other.Thirdly, harmonious thought is inseparable from Chinese traditional culture and western philosophy. Harmonious college teacher-student relationship is a concept with bountiful connotation, which embodies equality and mutual respect between teachers and students from the perspective of law, mutual understanding and tolerance from the perspective of moral, communication and construction from the teachers'perspective and interaction and participation from the perspective of students. Constructing harmonious college teacher-student relationship in the new period is the needs of college's sustainable development and higher education teaching reform and cultivating talent people. Furthermore, it is the needs of teachers'professionalized development and students'comprehensive development. Therefore, it plays an important role in higher education and college's ideological and political work.Finally, constructing harmonious college teacher-student relationship is to set up a relationship of acceptance, management and service, because colleges are responsible to cultivate people by teaching, managing and serving. To construct harmonious college teacher-student relationship, we must have such a management concept of human-oriented and provide a platform for teacher-student communication; prompt teaching reform and create human cultivation pattern; strengthen teachers'moral and students'school disciple construction, improve the comprehensive quality of teachers and students; inherit sprit of college and cultivate harmonious campus culture.
