Through the study of the actual state of college teacher performance appraisal and the further analysis of the appraisal method, the paper point out the issue in the current university teachers' assessment in our country. Based on the idea that for different kind of college teachers, there should be different appraisal system, this paper brought forward a college teacher performance appraisal system that base on a kind of classification method that first assort the teacher by classification, subject, type and title and then set up respective critical standards for each kind by different indicators and weights. To strengthen the Scientificity of the appraisal system, the paper combines the ideology of self guidance and external guidance—the way that appraisal weights are set up mutually by teacher's own advantage and experts' opinion—to in some degree make the college teacher performance appraisal system much more reliable and rational.The paper has seven chapters. Chapter one is introduction that mainly give the background of the selection of the research topic and its academic significance. Furthermore, it also introduces the basic approach, method and original ideas. Chapter two makes a thorough review of university teacher's performance appraisal on the theory research at both home and abroad. Chapter three gives a full explanation of related theoretical methods of university teacher's performance appraisal. Chapter four introduces the constructional method of creating a hierarchical appraising system of college teacher. By expatiating the basic idea, principal and process of creating a hierarchical university teachers' assessment, this chapter presents an actual case and further explains how to set up indicators, weights and their composition. Chapter five introduces the multi-subject comprehensive evaluation method that bases on the cooperation of self advantage and expert opinions and also gives the algorithmic flow of indices weight setting. Chapter six presents a university teachers' assessment instance and Chapter seven is conclusions and prospects. It mainly summarizes this paper's research results and prospects follow study.
