Rural education plays a very important role in improving the quality of rural population, promoting social and economic development of rural areas and increasing overall national strength. Rural teachers play a key role in the reform and development of education in rural areas. Income concerns their vital interests, affects the stability of teachers and the development of education in rural areas. Researching on the income of rural teachers has a great singnificiance.First, on the base of China's economic and political development and rural education management and investment system, the author stages the evolution history of teachers'income in rural primary schools of Sichuan province during sixty years since the founding of new China.Second, on the basis of stages, by interviewing the teachers both on work and retired, getting some relevant information in Guanghan educational bureau and some primary archives, the author mainly concerns the changes of teachers'income in rural primary schools of Guanghan during sixty years since the founding of new China. On this basis, taking other cities and counties'data into account, and then descibing the changes of teachers'income in rural primary schools of Sichuan province during sixty years since the founding of new China. Third, the author analyses the problems and the reasons about the changes of teachers'income in rural primary schools of Sichuan province during sixty years since the founding of new China. The problems are: for a long time, it is existed in rural primary school that teachers'income is lower, income lacks of incentives and lawful income is not be implemented. The reasons are: economic and finance are at a low ebb, teacher wage system and wage relations are unreasonable, rural education management and investment system are still have some drawbacks, regulations and policies are inadequate implemented.Finally, the author analyses the obstacles and opportunities of increasing teachers'income in rural primary schools of sichuan province.
