From A New Hand To A Dab

Under the background of the new curriculum reform, the new course standard proposes the new concept. Teachers have to change their education concept,learn new professional knowledge and achieve their unprecedented opportunity of development. It's a severe challenge as well. With the extension of average high school and the new faculty's expansion, the new teachers have occupied a large ratio. How to cultivate plenty of qualified teachers in a short time and make the young teachers improve their profession rapidly is an urgent problem. The research on the critical incidents to promote teachers' professional development is a favorable way to solve this problem. Critical events refer to the important events in one's personal life and he/she has to make some key decisions according to these events. It makes teachers to make a choice of certain behaviors which may cause certain direction. The study of critical events can optimize the teaching activities, improve teachers' professional development to shorten the period from beginner to dab hand. Reflecting will sublimate and filter ordinary events into critical events.They're cause-and-effect and complementary relationship.Through the study of critical events, reflection, teachers' professional development and their relationship, combining the education status of middle school education and the particularity of English, we can find an effective way to shorten the cyclical growth of young teachers. By establishing, analyze and making use of critical events in the daily teaching practice, we can promote teachers' professional development in theory and practice to change the natural growth into a kind of regulation of conscious acceleration growth.
