The Influence Of Internationaly Combating Illegal Logging On Imports Of Timber Resources In China

Since the 1990s, the global consumption has been increasing, and the contradiction between wood products supply and demand caused by the increasing demand of wood products and the greatly reduced forest resources has been more prominent. As the world's top log and plywood importer and the second biggest importer of wood products and exporter of furniture, China has an increasingly significant status in international trade of wood products, which makes China play an important part in cracking down on illegal logging.The paper guided by input-output model obtains the export coefficients and domestic use shares of all countries by calculating through Cardiff inverse matrix and combining with the world-acknowledged calculation pattern of illegal logging, and the influence of combating illegal logging in China.Based on the international research finding of experts from home and aboard and the current status of the international fight against illegal logging, this paper analyzes the influence factors of timber resources, so this paper use trade the gravity model selection several indicators, the dependent variable for Chinese timber imports, GDP, per capita disposable income of urban households, per capita net income of rural households, forest products, meanwhile combating illegal logging effects on imports are also increasingly appear, and is becoming a factor of timber resources import constraints. As exports are a major influencing factor, this paper analyzes the effects on combating illegal logging from the perspective of the major timber supply countries.This paper describes I-O Model and has its guidance to create nineteenth countries export table, export coefficient calculation and database established, then getting each country domestic use share. We concluded main timber resource country from which China imports,for example, Malaysia, Russia, Papua New Guinea, their export coefficient is high and illegal logging volume is large and their timber domestic use share is rare, most is used to export. High export coefficient while low domestic use rate illustrated current timber raw market status, their wood mainly support abroad. Because of closely trade between countries, in present combating illegal logging circumstances, China's major trading partners inevitably reduce exports, rid china imports illegal harvested timber volume from these countries, then China domestic timber supply will substantially reduced.To safeguard the timber resources in our country and deal with the influence of banning illegal logging on the domestic supply of timber resources. From the country policy, China must improve forest-related legislation, increase more support and investment in forestry; From industry level, forestry must speed up the reform of collective forest rights., optimizing form. From the corporate stthe structure, perfect service system, build a service platform. From the corporate strategy level, they must enhance innovation, committed to producing high value-added products, bigger and stronger. And enterprises must be aware of the importance of brand, to play the main role of innovation and improve value to their products.
