Constraction Logistics System Design Of The Lng Carrier Cargo Containment System

To utilize natural gas has become a main orientation of our strategic transformationof energy in21st century. It is also our important objective to ease the energysupply-demand discrepancy at beginning of this century in our country, and to optimizethe energy mix and improve the ecological environment, as well as to increase the qualitylevel of people's life so as to realize the sustainable development in our country. LNGcarriers are a kind of special craft to transport the liquefied natural gas from providingterminal to receiving terminal. LNG carriers are recognized globally as high-tech, highvalue-added and high reliability craft, being praised as a Pearl on the Crown of worldshipbuilding. LNG carriers transport LNG cargo in a temperature of-163℃, having ahigh shipping risk. Therefore, a particular cargo containment system (CCS) is required.Principally it consists of insulation layers and Invar sheets covered on them. To buildCCS, huge amount of materials are needed. The huge amount and types of the materialsmake the material procurement and supply become one of the main factors whichinfluence the CCS construction. Therefore, setting up a suitable logistics managementand controlling system plays a vital role for LNG carrier construction.This paper gives the sketch of H shipyard materials logistics status, analyzing thedeficiencies of materials procurement management and storage delivery management.This gives a foundation for design the logistics system of the CCS construction. Then,this paper uses CPM and Gantt chart to analyze the CSS construction progress and themeterials supply plan, calculating the production cycle time and the order cycle time,getting the latest order time. At last, this paper uses the ABC classification and theSWORT analysis method to classify all the materials, founding the JIT procurement anddelivery, making the control to logistics cost and logistic risk.
