The capital GDP and emissions of major pollutants statistical data in1986-2010of Huizhou were used to setup the model of environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) inthis study. The relationship between economic growth and environmental pollutionwas extensively discussed and stimulated using different mathematic function. Thecharacteristics of EKC and its effects on the environmental quality were analysizedbased on the above results. The suggestions on the sustainable and sustaineddevelopment of environment and economy were conducted according to the actualposition in the Huizhou city. The main conclusions were summarized as follows:(1) The total amount and amount per capita of the inductrial wastegas emissionin the past twenty-five years in Huizhou city appeared in a phenomenia ofdecrease-increase, i.e., a lefe part of inverted N shape, depending on the increaseof gross national production per capita. The EKC became smoothing down a bitafter the year of2008.(2)The total amount and amount per capita of the inductrial wastewater dischargein the past twenty-five years in Huizhou city appeared in a phenomenia ofdecrease-increase, depending on the increase of gross national production per capita. The point of inflexion in the EKC was located in the position of Per capita GDP of30000.(3)The total amount and amount per capita of the inductrial solid waste dischargein the past twenty-five years in Huizhou city appeared in a phenomenia ofdecrease-increase-decrease, depending on the increase of gross national productionper capita. The point of inflexion in the EKC for both the solid waste and its percapita happened on the position of Per capita GDP of30000, respectively.(4)The relationship between the Hoffman ratio and the industrialwastegas/industrial wastewater could be described as a N shaped one using EKCanalysis. The total amount of industrial wastegas emission and wastewater dischargeincreased with the development of heavy industry. However, a inverted N shaped relationship existed between the industrial solid waste discharge and the Hoffmanratio.(5) The N shaped relationship between the industrial wastewater discharge andthe economic period existed, but an inverted N shaped relationship does betweenthe industrial wastewater/wastegas and FDI, respectively. The negative correlationwas found between the pollutant emission and the environmental investme nt.
