.with the development of urbanization and the shortage of land resourses, hish-rise building has become the dominant type nowadays. With the ever denser population, high-rise building structures have become more and more demanding. The commonly used types of high-rise buildings include Shear-wall structure, Frame Shear-wall structure and Cylinder structure. The on-site reinforced concrete shear buildings have good integrity, large lateral rigidity, undergo small lateral displacement when subject to lateral forces, have sufficient strenth and smooth walls. Because the beams and columns are built inside, the layout of the rooms becomes comparatively easier. Given reasonable design, the shear buildings could be made quite ductile under earthquakes. Therefore, shear wall buildings haved become the optimal choice in high-rise buildings. Nevertheless, in the design process many designers don’t make a analysis of the structure, and only seek to fulfill the requirement of the design codes, therefore do not control the structural rigidity within reasonable limites. It is not that the rigidity of the structure should be made as large as possible. If there are many shear walls, the larger the rigidity, the larger the earthquake effect (though the lateral displacement wiould be smaller), so the ductility of the sheer walls is not made full use of, and the cost of the project would be lifted. Therefore the distribution of the shear walls should be carefully considered to control the rigidity of the walls.This paper firstly summarizes the current development and structural analisys of shear wall buildings, as well as the influence of their width, surface of distribution, the strenth class of concrete upon the structural rigidity.Secondly, this paper makes an analysis of the calculations and drawings of building No.1in the Shanxi Yuncheng Hualinyishu Garden District and through the analysis of the original data, discovers that the lateral rigidity is large. Through the combination of Short Pier Shear Wall and The general shear wall, a reasonal distribution of shear walls is made, and the use of holes in the walls could reduce the rigidity of the structure. After making a comparison between these two calculations we could discover that the optimized one has better structural arrangements, and better mechanical properties. Through reasonable calculations of project quantities it is found that the optimized proposal reduces the cost, therefore could be put to use.
