The Application Of Wood Materials Models In Design Teaching

With the persistent development of architecture education, teaching with models is used by architecture major in college, thus, the field of model using is getting wider and wider. Materials of models are various and each of them has a special quality and meaning, as well as different expression to the sense of design. Wood becomes the most ordinary kind of model material by all the architects with its particular veins and mechanical characteristic. On the basic of the experience through design and teaching, this paper is focus on the discussion of timbering model material made and its applications in teaching.This paper is based on architecture teaching in our college, which reviews the frame of model teaching and summarizes the influences of model materials to design expression and the material choosing to different design sense, In the base of research and analyzing, the author realized models attracted lots of attentions and was used widely, moreoverwood has become the most important material gradually.This paper studies wood material through the characteristic, sorts and facture art, which made a foundation for design teaching with wood model.At last, according to the examples in teaching, this paper describes the applications of wood materials in teaching and learning, especially in the fresh students. The examples were chose from "space structure","my space","kindergarten","ancient architecture revision", which was concluded from practice.The conclusion part expounds the future development of wood material model in architecture major teaching and provides the simple reflection to the development mode, which makes a conclusion from all the works of this paper.
