A Survey And Planning Countermeasures Study On Urban Road Barrier-free Public Transport Facilities Of Beijing

Barrier-free public transport facilities are the important part of the construction of bar-rier-free environment in the urban physical space.With the social development and im-provement of living standards,social activities of city residents have become increasinglyrich and colorful.It puts forward higher request for urban construction because of moto-rized traffic resulted from urban development and rapid expansion of building lands.Hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing speeds up the process ofbuilding accessible public transport facilities.After the Olympics ended,the use and man-agement of barrier-free public transport facilities,and the degree of concern for disabledpeople not able to continue to develop and perfect in Beijing.So many facilities are idlewhich caused inconvenience to the life of the disabled people.Nowadays,researches on bar-rier-free public transport facilities mostly from the view of the transport and facilities de-sign.Few are on urban planning.This paper,from the perspective of urban planning,studiesbarrier-free public transport facilities and makes a positive exploration on them.This paper begins to investigate the current situation of barrier-free public trans-port facilities in Beijing.On one hand,a wide range of sample survey on the barrier-freepublic transport facilities in Beijing to understand the using status and problemsof barrier-free public transport facilities and count the specific facilities in classification,sothe problem can be quantified for data analysis;on the other hand,a questionnaire on thepeople who use barrier-free public transport facilities to understand the characteristics ofusers daily travel and the feeling for the use of barrier-free public transport facilities.WithNumerous phenomena and problems existed in the research,in order to examine the barrier-free public transport facilities from the macroscopic view;firstly,according to the rules ofpeople going out,divide the population into the walking stages and public transportstage.Arranging and thinking on people in the two stages,this paper makes a comprehen-sive grasp of the people in the different functional areas of the city configuration and de-sign requirements for barrier-free public transport facilities,which saves the resources andoptimize the allocation,and make barrier free public transport facilities to play its due roleMeanwhile,considering the integrity and continuity of barrier-free public transport facili-ties,divide it into two subsystems in accordance with the walk and ride transport,analyzingand discussing,and identify the nature of the reasons resulting in the continuity prob-lems of barrier-free public transport facilities,and propose planning strategies and specificmethods.
