| Recently, as the energy crisis and the environmental pollution, the research and development of new energy has got more attention. The solar energy has been particularly favored for its unique characteristic, such as safe, environment friendly, and infinite energy source. In2000Germany government established the Renewable Energy Law to support the development of Photovoltaic (PV) industry by feed in tariff policy. At the same time, many other countries also have made plan to support the PV industry development, such as the USA, Japan, Spain and China, and so on. Solar cell began to be widely used.The sun light received by the solar system is dispersive and directional because of the diurnal and seasonal movement of earth, this make the solar energy received by the stationary array change with the variation of the sun light incidence angle. In order to maximizing power output from the solar panels, one needs to keep the panels aligned with the sun. Therefore, the study of sun tracking can make great contributions to improve the efficiency of the solar system, and expand the application of solar energy.This paper introduces a new type of sun tracking system based on ARM32bit Microprocessor S3C2440(produced by Samsung). A program based on solar position algorithm is introduced to calculate the solar altitude and azimuth, which is used to drive the motor, turning the system toward the sun. And the manual control is designed to make the system maintenance more convenient. The real-time monitoring of the sun tracking system can be done with the Web server on the embedded system, the user can easily check the sun tracking system by viewing the website. Also the microcontroller will send a text message to the user when it get a high temperature data from the sensor. The tests show that the tracking control system can reach the expected targets and has great practical value for the improvement of solar energy utilization. |
