With the application of control system on the MT (Manual Transmission), SAMT (Semi-Automatic Manual Transmission) makes automobile shifting partly intelligentize with shifting moment decided by drivers and shift lever manually handled yet clutch movement and engine throttle opening automatically regulated by ECU (electronic control unit) based on the procedure embedded. The advantage of SAMT lies in its high transmission efficiency, sample structure, intelligent control and low cost. At the same time, it is widely acknowledged that SAMT is very suitable for modern automobile modification and that it has a vast potential for future development.Based on SAMT with the character that automatic clutch manipulating and manual shifting process, this paper carry out some researches as follows:The theoretical basis of Fuzzy Control and Neural Network Control are briefly introduced, the characters of SAMT control system studied and the feasibility of application of Artificial Intelligence Theory on SAMT control system proved.Taking several indexes such as Riding Comfort, Reliability and Fuel Economy, clutch control strategy is established based on analysis of vehicle dynamics and clutch operating process as well. Electric hydraulic clutch actuating mechanism with PWM signal being regulated aim at clutch friction plate moving control is designed and its feasibility is verified under the simulation environment.Control strategy of engine load regulation is formulated based on engine performance analysis and changes of engine load during shifting process to stabilize engine operation and assure not only high shifting performance but also driving comfort.Based on Fuzzy Control and Neural Network Control Theory, software embedded is designed and debugged. Hardware design includes Microprocessor type choosing, peripheral circuit arranging, signal processing analyzing and circuit diagram drawing up.Engine, clutch, control system and automobile are respectively modeled under MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The simulation is carried out under different working conditions and simulation results analyzed. Accomplishment of this paper is summarized. Then the further study is prospected.
