Micro-grid, an important part of Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city Smart GridIntegrated Demonstration Project, is a new user-oriented way of supply anddistribution. It contains distributed power, energy storage devices and micro-gridenergy management systems.The report presents the basic structure and composition of micro-grid, comparesthe differences and connections of micro-grid and distributed generation technology,points out that micro-grid technology can solve some technical problems brought bythe access of distributed power to the distribution network, including simplifying thedispatching, operation and management of distributed power, improving the powerquality, supply reliability, and the economy of distributed power.This paper also states the domestic and international research, the prospect ofmicro-grid and its construction and operational form suited to Tianjin power gird.Furthermore, combined with the characteristics of micro-grid, the paper analyzes themicro-grid technology from three aspects of micro-power technology, energystorage technology and energy management systems. And it gives an example ofsmart business hall micro-grid project in Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city to design asystem met the requirements of the distributed power supply and installation ofenergy storage system.Finally, the thesis makes the suggestions that after the accumulation of gridoperating experiences and data in micro-grid, it should make in-depth study ofmicro-grid control, connecting and islanding operation mode switching, and theimpact of power quality.
