China is a great power country in shipping, it has a great demand for crew each year, and training high-quality crew has a positive significance for the whole shipping industry. Traditional training is carried out based on real ships. This model is the most direct, and its effect is the most desirable. But it is too costly, lenthy, and limited to hardware resources to be able to ensure that every crew can get sufficient training opportunities.The training system based on computer simulation is pure software, and not limited to external circumstances, training time, hardware resources, etc, so it is a flexible way of training. Also, it allows users to develop innovative experiments, and costs much less. In a word, the training simulation system will make up for the traditional way efectively and play a significant role in training high-quality crew.The training simulation platform is designed based on practical needs and present application of simulation technology of the ship power station training system.First, the ship power station is chosen as the object of study and its constitution and working principle are deeply analyzed, and building the training simulation platform for the ship power station is put forward, then, the framework of this platform is designed based on its function requirment.Second,.NET platform is chosen as the development environment, and C#is chosen as the development language. Many controls, such as dials, knobs, trend pictures are developed based on GDI+technology. Combining with WinForm basic controls, a virtual control base is built.Then, main user interfaces and XML micro-database which is used to access the platform’s data are established. All user interfaces are loaded in a flexible way through the seamless connection between XML database and communication interface, and they can be used directly because all ui elements are automatically matched with variables in the communication protocol.Moreover, the rationality and operability of this platform is verified by massive experiments. Finally, research work presented in the thesis is summarized comprehensively and further research directions are pointed out.
