The main purpose of this study was to demonstrate that the affect of cardio-pulmonary、bloodgas and the endothelium derived vasoactive factorsanesthetic during combined epidural-propofolanesthesia, and to explore the feasibility of propofol combined with epidural anesthesia in dog, andto lay the groundwork for better future clinical application of propofol combined with epiduralanesthesia in dogs.This experiment can be divided into three groups. The groupⅠwere injected2%lidocaine6mg/kg in the fourth to fifth lumbaar vertebrae (L4-L5). Group II received epidural-propofolanesthesia were injected2%lidocaine6mg/kg,which was induced with propofol6mg/kg andmaintained with0.4mg/kg.min. Group III was induced with propofol6mg/kg and maintained with0.7mg/kg.min.Intensive care instrument Datex-type and Datex OhmedaS/5TM-Capnomac Ultimatm typewere used to monitor the change of heart rate、mean arterial pressure, respiratory rate、ventilationvolume、tidal volume、PetCO2after anesthesia, and assessed the affect of sedation, analgesia,muscle relaxant, various biological reflection.The monitoring of anesthetic effect showed: The results showed that after combinedepidural-propofol anesthesia, miniature dogs demonstrated goodanesthetic effect, quick inductionof anesthesia, suitable maintain anesthesia time, calmer recovery; and better analgesia, sedation,muscle relaxation effect.The monitoring of circulation function showed: SBP, DBP, MAP and HR first increased andthen decreased, after the injection of propofol, during the process of propofol compound epiduralanesthesia. But the changes of these indexes were all in the tolerance scope of the dogphysiological.The monitoring of respiratory function showed: propofol compound epidural anesthesiainfluenced respiration of the dogs in some degree,which mainly showed that tidal volume (TV),ventilation (MV) and respiratory rate (RR) decreased in a certain scope. But the changes of theseindexes were all in the tolerance scope of the dog physiological.The monitoring of the endothelium derived vasoactive factors concentration’s changingshowed: propofol compound epidural anesthesia influenced haemodynamics of the dogs in some degree,which mainly showed that NO increased and ET decreased, which made the balance ofNO/ET changed, the production of TXA2were subdued, and the release of PGI2were promoted,which changed the balance of PGI2/TXA2. These result that the cardiac muscle shrinkage forcewere weaken., cardiac output decreased, blood vesseled, and peripheral resistance decreased,which leaded to a drop in blood pressure, heart rate slowed, But the changes of these indexes wereall in the tolerance scope of the dog physiological.The monitoring of the concentration change of the blood gas indexes showed: propofolcompound epidural anesthesia has certain inhibition, which mainly showed that the PH of theblood and arterial oxygen partial pressure (PO2) declined, and arterial carbon dioxide partialpressure (PCO2) rised. ut the changes of these indexes were all in the tolerance scope of the dogphysiological.Propofol compound epidural anesthesia can induce quickly. And the anesthetization time isproper. Meanwhile anesthesia recovery is smooth. Analgesia, sedation and the effect of musclerelaxant is ideal and equilibrates. And it has less effect on the respiratory function and circulationfunction. And it also can reduce the dose of propofol anesthesia alone.
