The Chinese Reading of middle stage (intermediate stage) is the bridge of primary stage and advancedstage. In order to get ready for the higher stage of Chinese Reading, students should master the vocabularies ofprimary stage and acquire basic reading skills. During the middle stage of Chinese reading, students shouldmaster more reading skills and do higher intensity exercises of reading speed and reading comprehensivespeed. Therefore, it can be sure that Chinese reading of middle stage is the crucial year of master Chineseskills and improve Chinese reading level.As exercises is one of the important components of teaching material, the quality of exercises directlyrelated to the classroom teaching quality of foreign Chinese reading and also the acquisition of students’ skill.In this thesis, it selected three sets of middle stage’s Chinese reading course which are used frequently andhave a great influence. It analyzed the exercises from its architecture and arrangement. And based on this, italso investigated the exercises’ type and quality.In this thesis it made a contrast of the three sets of courses from the designation of exercises and from thetype and quality of exercises. It summarized the exercises’ composing character of the three sets of courses andcame up with my own understandings and suggestions. In the end of this thesis, according to the results ofcontrast analysis, it summarized the inspiration of exercises’ composing of Chinese reading courses. Based onthis, it put forward the imagination of exercises’ composing of Chinese reading courses.I hope that our endeavor will be useful to the exercises’ composing of middle stage’s Chinesereading course and the classroom teaching of middle stage’s Chinese reading. I hope that this thesis will play arole in casting a brick to attract jade and attract more concern of experts and scholars studying on the middlestage’s exercise of Chinese reading course.
