Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) within a short time is a hard task to be finished. It requires Chinese teachers carefully select teaching content, continuously improve teaching methods, and try to achieve the best effect of teaching. However, among the current mode of teaching, teachers still take the most important part in the class, while ignoring the dominant position of students. So it is necessary to reform the present TCSOL classroom instruction mode.Interactive teaching is a new method of teaching which gives full play to the activeness of teachers and students in the teaching process and therefore reinforcing the interaction between teachers and students. It has its unique advantages in cultivating students’ enthusiasm and activeness. Interactive teaching methods use modern information technology as a support. It emphasizes the idea of "student-centered" during the teaching period. A lot of practical experiment has proved that the interactive mode of teaching, is excellent at increasing students’ interest on learning and cultivating their communicative competence.Foreign research on interactive teaching methods has lasted for over 20 years. It covers different subjects, including the definition of interactive, the selection criteria on interaction teaching, the interactive mode of learning and cognition and interaction, etc. Chinese scholars have also made great achievement in this field. Wenxin Yang for example, has affirmed the positive role of interactive teaching methods on teaching effectiveness by doing tracking research. Guijun Peng has discussed the positive effects of interactive teaching in promoting the teacher-student relationship in college from the perspective of psychology. However, the study of Interactive teaching methods on TCSOL is not rich enough. The present studies are mainly focused on the theoretical explanation and few have done the research from the practical aspects. Therefore, we intend to proceed from the view of practical exploration, trying to use the interactive mode theory for the design of specific teaching and hope to be able to provide more specific guidance for first-line teaching staff. This article first analyzes the feature of TCSOL, introduced the basic concepts of teacher-student interaction in the classroom, profiled the teaching mode of TCSOL and clearly described the key points of the teacher-student interaction during the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Then the writer analyzed the present situation of the teacher-student interaction in TCSOL classes by means of a questionnaire. Finally, we designed several teacher-students activities with a view to provide supportive guidance on improving teaching quality and promote effective interaction between teachers and students.
