Abstract/Summary:
During the past few years, as the divorce rate in China has been increased quickly,it witnesses the rapid growth in divorced families which leads to a huge number of children whoare living in single-parent families. Whether the level of the mental health of this special group iseffected by the fact of parents divorcing generates lots researchers interests. With regard to themental health of this special group as well as how to apply psychological counseling methods toimprove the level of their mental health, author is very interested in it.Author employs the manner of group counseling to intervene on Junior High schoolStudents from divorced families. I recruited8Junior High School students from divorcedfamilies who are studying in school in time, and that I did8times group counseling which lasted4weeks. To implement pre-test and post-test, author makes use of the “MTH”, which is thebroad measure of testing mental health,and then author makes the level of psychological healthof the students from divorced families comparison with the level of psychological health ofstudents from dysfunctional families. The results, responding with observation of the researcherand the feedback of the partners, illustrates that:1. To relieve the psychological pressure of students from divorced families, the effectsof group counseling is obvious.2. The psychological health of students from divorced families is poorer than theirwhole-families counterparts, especially in the dimensions of learning anxiety、self-blame tendencies、impulsive tendencies and lonely tendencies, which show outsignificant difference.The objects of study are Junior High School students from divorced families, there arepractical significance to solve the psychological problems of this special group.
