Chinese idioms are often used in conversations.As an idiom,its meaning is not thesimple addition of each part’s individual meaning,but is often a rhetorical meaning becauseit is usually used as a metaphor.Chinese idioms are quite colloquial and enjoy greatpopularity among native speakers.China and Korea have many things in common since very acient time,and there aremany influences on Korea’s culture,custom as well as language from China,theseinfluences are also reflected by idioms,which are often used in people’s daily life.Theseculture and language exchange may provide some help for those Korean students to learnChinese idioms.However,they may also cause some errors during their learning processbecause of the differences between Chinese and Korean idioms.So it is necessary toresearch on effctive methods for Korean students to study Chinese idioms.This paper is divided into4parts.Chapter1is the introduction part,we introduce thethe reason for the topic and reseach methods. Chapter2defines the range of Chineseidioms according a literature review of their studies,and explains the concepts as well ascharacteristics of idioms. It also demonstrates the signifieance of the Chinese idioms inteaching of Chinese as a foreign language.Chapter3includes some typical mistakes whichKorean students made during their learning process,and we summarize the reasons of thesemistakes.In chapter4we construct the teaching strategies of Chinese idioms for Koreanstudents,and we hope that it will be helpful in Chinese teaching.
