Translation Of English Security Words

With the internationalization of market economy, translation is playing a role in more and more areas and security translation is one of the most common. Based on the practice of security translation and the translation materials from Shanghai Stock Exchange Web-site, this thesis analyses the features of security words and explores the translation skills of security words. From the perspective of language studies, security words have the features of profession, synonymy, being with opposite meanings and abbreviation. In the practice of translating security words, the method of literal translation, transforming word order and conversion are commonly adopted by the author. At present, the study of securities translation is scanty. Most people who are engaged in securities translation work for commercial purposes and few would study the characteristics of securities translation. However, securities play an important role in the current market and are closely bound up with people’s life. The purpose of this study is to enrich the study of English translation in the security field. It is hoped that the methods discussed in this paper have important guiding significance in the practice of security translation.
