| Color words play an important role in the Chinese words.People not only describe colors but also give colors more meanings,such as caste,religion, customs,and aesthetic orientation and so on.Many scholars have depthly conducted in color words study.However, nowadays,all kinds of dictionaries about the color words’interpretation are debatable.On the basis of corpus and the interpretation of the Modern Chinese Dictionary(fifth edition),this article analyses the meaning items of distribution of the core color words such as"Hei"," Bai"," Hong "," Lv "," Huang " in modern Chinese with qualitative and quantitative research methods.This article is divided into six chapters.The introduction briefly discusses the studying meaning of the Chinese core color words,lexicography and color words current status of research, research methods,innovation and corpus source. From the first chapter to chapter five,On the basis of the CCL Modern Chinese Corpus in the Peking University,we make samples and analysis the Modern Chinese Corpus of the five core color words in modern Chinese with the methods of qualitative and quantitative, and then re-describe the meaning items of the distribution of the core color words,finally, we combine them with the linguistic research.According to this analysis,we try to give some suggestions to the definitions of the five core words in Modern Chinese Dictionary(fifth edition).Finally,Chapter six makes a conclusion and offers some inadequacies. This article not only relates to the theory of practice and validation, but also collects data to support the further study of the core color words and attempts to fix the Modern Chinese Dictionary(5th edition)for the purpose of providing a reference for the future study of the Modern Chinese Dictionary revision once again about inadequacies in the Interpretation of core color words.I hope that the analytical methods and conclusions of the article can provide a reference for the Dictionary. |
