Corpus-Based Study On The Meaning Items Distribution Of The Representative Words In Space Property Semantic Field In Modern Chinese

In the1990s, with the rapid development of corpus technology, lexicographer gradually integrated linguistic researching, lexicography with corpus technology, and they developed the quantitative and the qualitative research methods. On the basis of this technology and combining the quantitative and the qualitative research methods, this paper studies the meaning items of five representative words (Yuan, Da, Xiao, Gao and Di) in the space property semantic field from a completely new perspective and it puts forward some feasible suggestions to address the definition problems.The first part introduces the current research status, background and development trend of lexical definition home and abroad. Besides, it concludes the existing principles of establishing meaning items in the Modern Chinese Dictionary (sixth edition), based on which it further proposes a unique complementary including principle, the lowest frequency principle.The second part is from part one to part five and they successively study the five study objectives. With a detailed analysis of relevant corpus, the thesis founds the following problems:there are improper definitions of Yuan, and Yuan lacks two meaning items; Da lacks two meaning items; Xiao lacks three meaning items; Gao has an extra definitions, lacks two meaning items and there are improper definitions; Di lacks two meaning items and it has two improper definitions. Under the guidance of relevant theories of linguistics and lexicography, this thesis give revision and supplement suggestions to solve the above problems. The third part draws conclusions on the interpretation of the five study objects and sums up the existing problems.
