Vocabulary teaching is a key of TCFL(teaching Chinese as a foreign language)," emphasizing vocabulary teaching, weakening grammar teaching" has become the main implementation of proposition in TCFL As a special class, relevant research of Chinese idioms focused on the idiom semantics, grammar, error and Lexicography. Compared to the vocabulary teaching in other fields of study, idiom teaching is still in a weak position of research on vocabulary teaching, related further research, more systematic. Therefore, to explore issues related to foreign idiom teaching for TCFL is very important.This article begins with the view of the current research in foreign idiom teaching and analyzes the current undertook situation, focused on the study of error, teaching method and dictionary compilation in these three aspects of research results, and to search for further fields and unfound research fields. According to the questionnaire data, the50composition and18sets of new HSK examination, this paper analyzes necessity of idiom teaching and existing problems for advanced Chinese learners.Then this paper analyzes the idiom teaching contents in the proportion of syllabus of Chinese character and vocabulary (Revised Edition)" and" vocabulary syllabus of HSK", included quantitative comparison of idioms from " DCC" lexical syllabus. Then comparing these two sets of senior Chinese textbook (" liberal arts" and" Chinese road to success") with related idioms annotation, arrangement and practice areas, finding the differences of these two sets of textbook, striving to break through the present teaching method, exploring the effective teaching strategies.According to the above research, this article put forward five referenced means of teaching and teaching design, expecting to improve students’ learning efficiency of idioms and to overcome the fear of difficulties, let them feel relaxed and happy when using idioms appropriately in the studying and daily communication.
