This article begins with basic statistical and summarized works on the idioms incorporated in twelve general Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language(TCFL)textbooks, based on the outcome, certain analysis is developed in terms of distribution, numbers, styles, practices, frequencies. Then, some problems are identified: as special vocabulary, idioms have been paid inadequate attention; the selection of idioms is not deliberate; significant difference exists in quantities and distribution; the style of explanation of idioms is imperfect; the exercises are too outdated to offer enough communicative training. To solve the foresaid problems, this article developed a basic conception on selecting and arranging Chinese Idioms in the Comprehensive Textbooks of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. It is found after necessary analysis that high-frequency idioms in TCFL textbooks share some common features. On one hand, Most of them in content either are close to real life or involve specific historical story or cultural connotation. On another hand, their voice contains the same part, or their semantic structure contains synonymous or antisense morpheme, or their grammatical structure is coordinate construction or verb-adverbial structure. Since the idioms having such common features are easier to acquire and more frequent to use, they should be given more emphasis in compiling of TCFL textbooks. It is hoped that continuing improvement on the compiling of idioms in the textbooks, will make the idioms teaching actions more smooth in the Comprehensive Course and help the Chinese language learners of all levels understand and master idioms more efficiently. Moreover, this article has made preliminary exploration in respect of Scene Teaching Method (STM) adopted in the course of idioms teaching. Such preliminary exploration, supported by examples of some idioms set out in <Outline>, covers some certain aspects, such as multimedia situation, performance situation, game situations, setting question situations est. Since STM's vividness is consistent with the vivid feature of Chinese Idioms, it is believed that the appropriate use of STM must produce a considerable output.
