A Study On The Introduction Of Culture Factors In Elementary Textbooks For TCFL

Culture teaching is an important part of TCFL, and the primary stage is the first time for the learners to study formally. The primary stage of culture teaching is based on cultural factors, which is critical for learners to accept and grasp the language well. Under the instruction of cognitive theory, modern Chinese linguistics, psychology of language, language teaching, cross-cultural communication and other closely relevant theoretical results, combined with the primary stage of TCFL Syllabus requirements, this paper contrast and analysis the cultural factors in the textbooks. After investigating the problems of culture factors teaching, recommendations are provided for culture teaching and textbooks in the primary stage.In chapter one, we briefly describes the background and theoretical basis of this study; In chapter two, we illustrate the importance of culture teaching in TCFL and outlines the results of theoretical studies and teaching status; In Chapter three, we outlines the principle and method of culture teaching in the primary stage of TCFL; In Chapter four, culture factors in two kinds textbooks are compared; In Chapter five, recommendations about culture teaching are made according to the syllabus of primary stage; Chapter six is the conclusion of this paper.According to the conclusion of this investigation, a good combination of language teaching and culture teaching is reflected. However, some cultural content is slightly outdated, lacking timeliness, which is not easy for learners to understand our national conditions correctly and comprehensively, sometimes may became obstacles or misleading. And the arrangement of cultural factors is not flexible enough, the actual effect on the teaching of cultural factors is limited. In this paper, according to the characteristics of language teaching and cultural factors teaching, we try to put forward some practical and scientific methods of cultural factors teaching, and provide reference for the textbooks in the primary stage of TCFL.
