The21st century is the era of talent competition, accompanied by thecommunity to human literacy call and employment market diversificationdemand,strengthening quality education and developing new talent become theimportant objectives in our education reform. With the rapid advance of basiceducation reform, the pace of innovation of college music education speeds upday by day and enrollment continues to expand, so the employment of collegemusic profession undergraduate course graduates faces the new changes togetherwith the problems of talent training objectives and development orientationabout the ordinary university musicology (teacher education) profession andmusic performance profession caused. These bring the new contradictions andnew subjects to teaching reform of higher education. Piano lesson as a basicsubject, the teaching reform about course development, the teaching content,teaching materials used and teaching methods will be the key. At the same time,educators also have the concepts of reform thinking and lifelong learning, keeppace with the times, change education teaching ideas, use the advanced teachingmethods, establish the new-type relationship of teachers and students, and takepeople orientation.The theory research and literature results about the universities pianoteaching reform and development are very rich, but piano teaching research forlocal and national areas isn’t been seen normally. Inner Mongolia as a minorityfrontier area, higher music education started more early, after more than half acentury of development course, university piano education has made goodprogress. Especially in the1990s, the east and west in Inner Mongolia haveestablished the universities in succession, higher education covering scope andscale increases gradually, and broken the imbalance of development betweeneastern and western areas in the past. But nationally, due to the regional factorsand the restriction of economic development level, universities’ piano teachinglevel in Inner Mongolia region l is still relatively backward. The author based onthe actual place, surveys and interviews the piano teaching status of fouruniversities in Inner Mongolia autonomous region such as Inner Mongolia normal university, ChiFeng University, Inner Mongolia University for thenationalities and BaoTou teachers college. Through analysis, the authorsummarizes the problems of Inner Mongolia piano teaching at the present stage.Through exploring the background and reasons of the problems, combined withthe literature research achievements and own teaching experience, the authorputs forward the solution further, puts forward the measures and proposals forInner Mongolia region universities’ piano teaching reform, and conceives thefuture prospect of universities’ piano education development. Make the pianoteaching run out own Local nationalization characteristics.Full text is divided into five parts: the first part is the introduction whichmakes a summary and shows to the purpose, subject source, research contentand method; the second part uses questionnaire and interview methods toinvestigate and analyze the piano teaching present situation of four universities;The third part, puts forward the thinking and countermeasures about teachingconcept, teaching aim, teaching content, teaching mode, teaching materialconstruction, teaching evaluation, teachers’ construction, etc. of Inner Mongoliauniversity piano teaching, and the idea of opening a few new course; The fourthpart, epilogue, summarizes the full text, and outlooks for the developmentprospect of inner Mongolia university piano teaching.
