Verb Reduplication form is often used in Chinese oral communication, but whenI communicat with the foreign students found that many students often used thewrong form and even not used the Verb Reduplication form, so Verb Reduplication tis one of the difficulties for Chinese learners. In this paper, I collected a large amountof data from the language HSK dynamic corpus and the Mongolia state schoolquestionnaires, and analyzed these data to find out the cause of the error, and find outsome methods to reduce or avoid these errors.The introduction first descript the significance of the topic and VerbReduplication ontology research and the people’s study of them, a brief introductionto the scope, methodology, and significance of this study.The second part summarized from the Verb Reduplication, and analysis theorybasics, summarized the results of previous studies, including the Verb Reduplicationform, scope, conditions, and significance. About Verb Reduplication, many scholars’opinions are similar, still there are a lot of different places. The thesis classified thepoint of view of some scholars, and the theoretical errors, in order to analysis theseerrors.The third part of this thesis, select the “Learn Chinese With Me”,“HappyChinese” as well as “Conversational Chinese301” three commonly used materials forteaching Chinese as a foreign language, the thesis investigated what time the VerbReduplication will learn, intended to study verb Reduplication in teaching Chinese asa foreign language teaching.The fouth part analysis the materials collected in corpus and in Mongoliastudents’ questionnaires,and divided them into four parts: Verb Reduplication shouldbe used, Verb Reduplication should not be used, misuse the form of VerbReduplication as well as with the misuse the collection of Verb ReduplicationThe fifth part, analysis the type of the errors to find out the reason of foreignlearners’ errors, including external causes and internal causes, trying to find why the foreign students use these errors.Sixth part of the thesis trying to find methods to reduce errors, and identify errorscauses,study from the four aspects of the teachers, students, teaching materials,classroom, and provide recommendations to reduce students’ errors.The conclusion of the theis, summarizes the innovation and shortcomings inthe thesis.
