Mental health education in primary and secondary schools of China has ushered in positivemental health education during the last20years of research and practice. Therefore, theoristsand practitioners launched a massive discussion about the advantages and disadvantages,gains and losses of positive mental health education. However, they have come to anagreement: mental health education in schools should be guided by the ideas of positivepsychology. In other words, carrying out positive mental health education in schools is or hasbecome an inevitable trend. What is positive mental health education in primary andsecondary schools? Why should positive mental health education be carried out? Further more,facing this revolution, how should we locate it? Such literatures are voluminous, which haveattracted worldwide attention. However, how should we carry out positive mental healtheducation in primary and secondary schools? How should we give a positive guidance to thecurrent positive mental health education in schools? And how should we improve theefficiency of positive mental health education in schools? These issues are more important forthe conduct of positive mental health education in primary and secondary schools, but thecurrent academic discussion is not enough. To answer this question, of course will involvemany aspects, but undoubtedly it is the most important to build an evaluation system ofpositive mental health education in primary and secondary schools.Thus, the author attempts to explore how to build an evaluation system of positive mentalhealth education in primary and secondary schools. Guided by the ideas of positive mentalhealth education, the present study draws on the existing research results and the practicalexperiences,uses the methods of action research, experience, investigation and literature, andthen proposes the principles and the basis for constructing the evaluation system of schoolpositive mental health education. Based on that, we establish six level I indicators which areorganizational management, hardware facilities, team building, the content, the ways, and theresults of implementing positive mental health education in primary and secondary schools.The six level I indicators are divided into24secondary indicators. These indicators are givencertain weights according to their relationship. Eventually we build up an initual evaluationsystem of positive mental health education, hoping to give guidance to the mental healthevaluation in primary and secondary schools.
