Mix-match is the re-configuration, which manifests order, diversityand integration; it enriches the imagination and expands the imaginationboundaries. Nowadays, mix-match can be seen everywhere in the fashionand design world, for example, in the clothes, products and packaging.When the world steps into21stcenturies, every country in the worldpromotes political, economic and cultural diversity, at the same time, andmutual development. The design innovation requires us to come up withscientific and humane work which shows the feature of the times.Therefore, capturing the essence of the mix-match and developing it into anew designing concept to cater for the needs of the society is of greatpractical significance.First, the study defines the concept of mix-match and summed up thegeneral law, discusses its philosophical roots and the formation of features,then applies it in the package design. Second, the thesis analyses thecharacteristic of mix-match and its value of being the “dynamic design”.Third, Examples are made to illustrate the application of new forms ofdesign, such as graphs, letters, colors and structure. Finally, the applicationprocedures the future trend are summarized with regard to the artisticcharacteristics of mix-matches.Semiotics is applied to show that mix-match is the cultural symbol ofthe new times, which is closely related with the development of the society. Another methodology of visual psychology is used to analyze thepsychological effect and the form of beauty that the mix-match reflectedin various factors of the packing design.People can have a better understanding of mix-match which can firethe inspiration of the designers and expand the connotation of the designworld, thus promote the development of packing design.
