Appellation is the tool that people usually express literally and communicateverbally. The teaching and use of appellations has always been one of the difficultiesin foreign language teaching. In the history of Chinese linguistics, there are manyresearch and notable results on the body of Chinese about the appellation. But therearen’t a lot of research on appellation in the view of Chinese teaching as a foreignlanguage. In recent years, with the Chinese’s spreading in the world the articles inthis area become more and more.For the students studying Chinese abroad in China, it is quite difficult for themto use the appellation accurately, you do not only need to have a deep knowledge ofChinese, but also have a good understanding about Chinese culture. It is verymeaningful for foreign students, helping foreigners to learn appellations well,helping understand the Chinese language and understand Chinese culture, making itharmonious for verbal communication in everyday’s life, improving communicationefficiency.This paper is based on questionnaire of Jilin University International Collegestudents, combined with shallow research on Chinese textbooks, trying to summarizethe problems of students when using the appellation, analyzing its causes, exploreeffective methods of teaching Chinese. Hope that these researches can play a role inpromoting Chinese teaching.This paper is divided into five parts:The first chapter presents some of the major reasons for writing this paper,introducing the research in this field as well as some ways of the research.The second chapter focuses on the discussion of Chinese Appellation Classification and cultural connotations. In the face of the complicated ChineseAppellation system, this part discusses the implication of Appellations.In chapter three make a statistical summary based on a questionnaire of the JilinUniversity Students, analyzing reasons, providing a little help for the students in thefuture.In chapter four, I make some suggestions about teaching symmetric predicates,trying to find some new teaching methods and teaching form.In the conclusion part of the full text, the whole paper is summarized, and makea prospect of the future of teaching Chinese as a Foreign Appellations. |
