A Phonetic Study Of Kaifeng Dialect In Henan

Kaifeng dialect belongs to Zhongyuan Mandarin and is one of therepresentative Zhongyuan Mandarin dialects. At present, the studieson Kaifeng dialect mainly lie in vocabulary and grammar, while thereare few studies on its pronunciation. This thesis describes thephonetic system of Kaifeng dialect and strives to explore the phoneticfeatures of Kaifeng dialect through synchronic and diachroniccomparison. Moreover, it also reveals the basic law of thedevelopment of Kaifeng dialect and is a comprehensive descriptionand analysis of the overall features of Kaifeng dialect. The whole textconsists of six parts.The first part is introduction. It mainly introduces the geographyand population of Kaifeng, an overview of Kaifeng dialect and thegeneral situation of phonetic research of it. The research significance,research approaches, data collection and the phonetic symbols arealso demonstrated in this part.The second part is a deep description of the phonetic system ofKaifeng dialect, including initials, finals, tone, and the phoneticfeatures of Kaifeng dialect. The comparison between Kaifeng dialectand Mandarin is shown in this part as well. The third part is a comparison of Kaifeng dialect and Guangyunphonetic system from the three aspects of initials, finals and tones.The fourth part is about the phonetic changes of Kaifeng dialect.In this part, the writer describes and analyzes the tone sandhi, theneutral-tone, the r-ending retroflexion, changed finals Z and D andother phenomena of phonetic changes.The fifth part is a description of literal and colloquialpronunciations in Kaifeng dialect from the aspects of initials, finalsand tones.The sixth part is about the homophone table of Kaifeng dialect.
