This is a translation project report. This report “The Global Innovation1000:Why Culture Is Key”, conducted by the famous consulting firm Booz&Company,makes an analysis on the key factors for successful innovation leaders. With strongcall for a transformation from “Made in China” to “Created in China”, Chinesecompanies put more emphasis on innovation. By translating this report, the writeraims to bring some inspiration for Chinese companies striving for innovation. Thistranslation project report is divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction tothe task, including its background, objective and significance. Chapter2is about thebackground of the source text. In Chapter3, the author discusses difficulties intranslation and relevant methods applied. In this chapter, the author puts forwardrelevant translating methods, including conversion and inversion, combination anddivision, as well as amplification etc. Chapter4is summary and conclusion, includingthe lessons learned and problems remains to be resolved. Based on Peter Newmark’stext category theory, this paper elaborates and analyzes questions encountered in theprocess of translating the source text in hope that it can provide some reference forsimilar translation practices.
