It is a translation project report on chapter14“The Power of Team Mind”excerpted from The Sources of Power written by the cognitive psychologist Dr. GaryKlein in1999. The14thchapter introduces the concept of team mind, raises thesimilarities and differences between team mind and individual mind, and in this waymakes a further analysis on the forming process of team mind, its functions andfeatures and its developing ways. The translation project report consists of four parts.The first is the description, including the background, goals and significance. Part twois the background introduction, made up of the presentation of the author, maincontents and psychological ideas of source context. The following part is aboutdifficulties and methods in the translating. Difficulties lie in the understanding ofpsychological terms, the handling of some long sentences, the reference of somepronouns and the translation of wh-words. The methods used in the translating processare division, adjustment of sentence orders and conversion of parts of speech. The lastpart of the report refers to lessons, implications and unsolved problems in thetranslation project.
