With the progress of globalization, translation is playing an increasingly important role in promoting international economic communications. Meanwhile, as a key strategic emerging industry, the photovoltaic (PV) industry is demonstrating dramatic influences on international business. Therefore, this thesis completes a translation practice on two journal papers on the PV industry with the theoretical guidance of Skopostheorie and relevant translation principles and the employment of Newmark’s communicative translation strategy and some effective translation techniques. Based on the practice, it fulfills a translation research on the target texts through case studies, conducting detailed case analyses on the research questions from the four aspects of terminologies, long and difficult sentences, PV enterprises’ names and issued documents, as well as other difficult points. It also puts forward some findings and suggestions beneficial to future translations for business publications in the same or similar areas thus boosting economic interactions between China and foreign countries while realizing a mutual motivation of both the translation industry and the PV industry. |
