This translation project report deals with the book A Companion to thePhilosophy of Technology edited by Jan Kyrre Berg Olsen, Stig Andur Pedersen andVincent Fella Hendricks. The translator chooses Part VI: Chapter65—Chapter69asthe source text. The five chapters mainly focus on the relevant contents of technologyand ethics, including Agriculture Ethics, Architecture Ethics, Biomedical EngineeringEthics, Bioethics and Biotechnology: Plants and Animals, which aim at discussing theimpact of advanced technologies on people from the ethic perspective. Thistranslation report is divided into four chapters: Chapter One is the description of thetranslation project, including the project background, objectives and project structure.Chapter Two is an introduction to the source text, including the author introduction, the original version and the analysis of the source text. Chapter Three is abouttranslation difficulties and methods. The difficulties lie in the translation of longsentences and parenthesis. Therefore, the translator, with Nida’s Reader’s ResponseTheory as guidance, adopts relevant translation methods to ensure the readability andcoherence of the target text. Chapter Four concludes with the inspiration and lessonsin the project.
