Following increasing development of political, economic, cultural and social exchangesbetween China and Russia, today more and more people want to study Chinese. But if we look atthe current situation of teaching Chinese in Russia, researchers still have not paid enoughattention to the research of teaching Chinese idioms. There are many problems in Chineseidioms’ semantic, grammatical and cultural understanding and also in regular idioms’ using.So Russian students who study Chinese is as this work’s object, and we try to analyze thesurvey and results of using Chinese idioms by Russian students, and we try to find right methodsfor teaching chinese idioms to them. In this work according to previous theoretical researchingbase, Russian students passed the research’s questionnaire at the Buryat State University and atthe Institute of Confucius in Ulan-Ude city.The survey’s results show us: at the first, for Russian students to use Chinese idioms is verydifficult. In the teaching Chinese the teaching of Chinese idioms plays a very important role;atthe second, in the process of teaching Chinese, when the most of Russian teachers face idioms,they rarely explain idioms’ features in details, so many Russian students are not interested inChinese idioms; at the third, the Russian students think it is difficult to learn and understandChinese idioms, and it is boring to study idioms, so some of teachers in the teaching processreduce the teaching of idioms. In the Chinese language there are not so many Russian idioms’equivalents, so except students, Russian teachers also feel difficult to learn and to use Chineseidioms. They think that Chinese idioms not so important for them. They do not encouragestudents to use Chinese idioms. Even sometimes during examination teachers also can remindstudents that it is good to avoid idioms for not making mistakes. This factor could make theRussian students be afraid of Chinese idioms and wouldn’t to use them.According to analysis of the survey results, the author proposes some recommendations ofthe teaching Chinese idioms’ methods. For the reducing problems of using Chinese idioms byRussian students, we suggest some methods:1. the methods of understanding semantic aspect;2.the methods of understanding grammatical aspect.3. the methods of understanding using aspect.We hope these analysis and research can help Russian students quickly have the ability ofusing Chinese idioms.
