Objective:This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of "Method of strengthening the spleen, resolving phlegm and activating blood" treatment on patients with fatty liver disease by a self-control experiment.Method:This thesis consists of the following two parts:The first part is literature review which summarizes the research progresses of pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of fatty liver disease in Chinese and Western medicine, as well as the clinical experiences in Xiyuan Hospital. The second part is clinical research:30patients with fatty liver disease due to syndrome of spleen deficiency accompanied with phlegm stagnation and blood stasis were given Xiaozhiqinggan decoction as well as diet control, exercise treatment and alcohol quitting for three months. The ALT, AST, GGT, TC, TG, B ultrasound index, body weight, BMI and symptom scores were analyzed.Result:Among30patients, the average age was43.17years old, and the average duration5.3years. There were26cases of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and4cases of alcoholic fatty liver disease. The total effective rate was90%. After treatment, the ALT, AST, GGT, TC, TG, B ultrasound index, body weight and BMI all decreased (P<0.01). In distribution of patients with BMI grouping, the normal group was increased, the obese group reduced. All symptom scores decreased (P<0.01).Conclusion:1. The basic pathogenesis of fatty liver disease is spleen deficiency accompanied with phlegm stagnation and blood stasis. Therefore,"Method of strengthening the spleen, resolving phlegm and activating blood" is the basic therapy. After treatment, the clinical symptoms were improved obviously, and ALT, AST, GGT, TC, TG, B ultrasound index, body weight and BMI all decreased, showing an excellent curative effect.2. Blood-activating and stasis-resolving drugs used in ahead can prevent the development of fatty liver disease and improve the cure rate as well as life quality.3. In addition to drugs, Chinese medicine still incorporates diet control, exercise and mental adjustment for the treatment of fatty liver disease. By regulating the body as a whole, Chinese medicine significantly contributes to health care, prevention and treatment of fatty liver disease. |
