Although the number of modal particles is small, but in real lifethe useful frequency of modal particles is very high. Foreign students’acquisition level of modal particles directly affects their Chinesecommunication level, therefore, we should value modal particlesteaching when teaching Chinese as a foreign language. This paperaccording to the "HSK Chinese level exam outline ", combined withthe useful frequency of modal particles, chooses "啊、吧、啦、吗、嘛、哪、呢、呀" as the research object. Based on ourinvestigation,this paper summarizes the errors of modal particlesmade by foreign students, analyzes the teaching problems of modalparticles when teaching Chinese as a foreign language and presentedsome suggestions and views. This paper will be divided into fivesections, of which the first chapter and fifth chapter respectively arethe introduction and epilogue, the second、third and fourth chaptersare the text.The first chapter is the introduction, which tells the reason ofchoosing this topic, the scope of research and the academic value ofthis paper.The second chapter briefly introduces the concept of modalparticles,the type of modal particles and the chinese expression tone,in which I put forward my own ideas based on other researchers’view.The third chapter analyzes the current status of modal particlesteaching first, including the theoretical studies about modalparticles,the layout of teaching syllabus about modal particles, thecontents of teaching materials about modal particles. Then based onthe questionnaire for international students,I analyzes and summarizesthe foreign students’ errors during learning modal particles in thispart.The fourth chapter, according to the foreign students’ errorswhen learning modal particle, summarizes the problems during theprocess of teaching modal particles,including the problems about thearrangement of teaching materials content and the problems about teaching strategies and teaching goal setting. And then I accordinglypropose my own opinions and suggestions.The fifth chapter is the epilogue, which summarizes the maincontent of this paper, and further illustrates part of this paper stillneeding to be improved.Among them, the third and fourth chapters are the key of thispaper.
