The hero is an eternal topic of mankind. As the total of people’s attitude and viewto hero,the concept of hero,which takes as core and merit as destination,comes fromhero’s practice. It is expressed in many different levels and also it can be verydifferent because of the age,nation,culture and personal idea.From the entire Chinese hero concept development history, the concept of localhero originated in the Han Dynasty, Yu Han mo period of the Three Kingdoms,experienced in modern and contemporary change, its connotation is expandingceaselessly, entrepreneurs from the emperors gradually toward the general public, thedefinition of the core from the heroic individual wisdom, gradually shifted to the heroand the relationship between the groups, group contribution, completed a hero ofcivilians and social process.Confucianism respected hero embodies the "ethical philosophy","outside",actively in the life value orientation and" benevolence, wisdom, courage" three unity.The hero in the works, Carlyle’s" heroes and hero worship", Plekhanov’s" on theindividual’s role in history," Hooke problem" hero in history" of these three books aremore representative of reflected the historians and philosophers in modern times tohuman in the so-called heroes as well as its role in the deepening the understanding ofthe process, but also that the human hero concept change. These three thinkers’ heroconcept represent the hero three explanatory models where the hero ontologicalinterpretation model, social determinism social interpretation mode, a biologicalopportunity theory interpretation mode.The research is based on the spreading activation model, using word associationmethod to collect data, to the contemporary students’ conceptual representation aswell as the "hero" of the structure studied. First of all, with "hero " as the stimulus, for267subjects are free association, according to the synonymous with the principles ofconsolidation, selected the top100associative frequency in more than0.3%of thefrequency concept words as units of analysis. Then, on the high frequency words wereanalyzed by content analysis, by two psychology graduate students between themaccording to the relation degree of content analysis and coding classification, therevised final hero coding dimension, inter-rater reliability reached0.90. Resultsshowed that (1)" Heroes" concept in the contemporary students’ is from the following6aspects: to the characterization of the traditional moral category, specific moralcharacter, style, character, knowledge, aspirations;(2) sexual subjects in the" specific moral character"" knowledge" two dimensions exist significant differences.(3)"knowledge"" thought ambition" two dimensions in grade variables have significantdifferences The study comes to the conclusion that the hero concept structure to acertain extent reflects the contemporary middle school students to have a moreprofound understanding of the concept of hero.
