The Chinese "directional complement" is a difficulty for Korean students tostudy Chinese. It’s also the external focus of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.For Korean students, the comparative analysis of "directional complement" betweenChinese and Korean will deepen the understanding on grammatical structure, which isvery important to understand the syntax structure of two languages better.The Chinese "directional complement" sets after the verb, to supplement theverb to express the surface meaning of trending and the extended meaning of theresults or states. This study is the comparative analysis on the expression of"directional complement" from two aspects-the surface meaning and the extendedmeaning, in order to find out the similarities and differences of directional complementin Chinese and Korean. Through the comparison, it shows that Chinese has nocorresponding complement components, adding the difficulty of "directionalcomplement" itself, the Korean students feel it’s really hard. Affected by the mothertongue, Chinese "directional complement" is usually rolled as a predicate verb, oradverbial, to express directly as the verb. Based on this contrast, this study focuses onthe Korean students’ acquisition of "directional complement" on errors, dividing intoseven common types in order to find out the reason. And the main reason is theinfluence of negative transition of the mother tongue, and accordingly, the method tosolve it.Sincerely hope that this study can help the Korean students to learn Chinese"directional complement" better, and play a positive role in studying Chinese as asecond language.
