High school students are in the important stage of personal growth, because there is an imbalance between the physical and mental development of the individual, their experience of life expanded, especially in the face of pressure of the university entrance exam, they face more and more challenges than ever before, and are more prone to depression.Therefore, it has a special significance to investigate the depression status of high school students and to study the factors that influence depression. We will study on the relationship between high school students positive psychological capital, adaptation and depression in the current research, in order to know more about the depression status of this group,improve the level of their positive psychology capital, increase their ability to adapt to the society,and then reduce the probability of their depression.This research was conducted with Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D),Positive psychological capital questionnaire (PPQ) and 《Adolescent mental health diathesis questionnaire》 adaptation scale.360high school students were selected from7classes of a high school in Tianjin by using random sampling. Conclusions are as follows:1. High school students are more prone to depression and should be concerned.2. there was significant grade difference on depression, but there was no significant gender differences on depression.3. There was a significant negative correlation between positive psychology capital and depression, adaptation and depression are significantly negative correlation.4. Adaptation plays partial intermediary role between positive psychology capital and depression.The results showed that in order to prevent depression of the high school student, reduce the probability of their depression, school and teachers need to take effective measures to improve the level of their positive psychology capital, increase their ability to adapt to the society.
