Nowadays, more and more foreign students come to China to study Chinese,Teaching Chinese as a foreign language(TCFL) has become great development andpopularization. Chinese character learning has directly affected the other learning skillsof Chinese. The degree in knowing how many characters has a close bearing on thelearners′level of Chinese language. Teaching Chinese character for foreigners hasalways been a weak link in TCFL.There is no close direct relation between the characterresearch and character teaching practice. Teaching Chinese character for foreigners(TCCF)will need further research to finding out the proper teaching methods.Thispaper has summarized the Psychology theory and the Linguistics theory on the teachingof Chinese character for foreigners. And the characteristics of Chinese cultural circleand non-Chinese culture circle. The paper origins from the interest for learning Chinesecharacter for foreigner which is combination with questionnaire and interview, toexploring the interesting teaching of TCCF.The paper develops itself into six chapters, which explains the teaching ofChinese character for foreigners the further research for the interesting teaching ofTCCF.Chapter one mainly describes the part of introduction, explains the propositionof the interesting teaching for the teaching of Chinese character to foreigners, analysisof the importance and urgency, and explains the purpose and the meaning of theinteresting teaching for TCCF. Chapter two mainly introduces domestic and foreignresearch review of TCCF, which explains the effect of it for Teaching Chinese forForeign language by introducing the purpose and significance of TCSL, as well as theposition and the role of the principle for TCCF.The main purpose of this character is toindicate the importance of teaching Chinese character and for studying of all aspects forsearching the proper methods for the TCCF. Chapter three draws a concluding of theinteresting teaching of TCCF, mainly including the definition of the interesting teachingfor TCCF, and analysis of its foundation of Psychology and Linguistics. Then analysisof the factor of effecting the interesting teaching of TCCF by explaining the quality ofChinese teacher for teaching foreigners, the difference between Chinese character and traditional Chinese character teaching and the interesting of Chinese character teachingmaterial. Chapter four mainly learn of the Chinese character learning situation offoreigners by questionnaire with chatting in detail, which oriented from the parallelismof the figure, pronunciation and signification of Chinese character for the interestingteaching of TCCF. Chapter five mainly introduce the interesting teaching of Chinesecharacter teaching plan by own design which based on the theory instruction. Chaptersix summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the interesting teaching for TCCF,and to striving through the interesting teaching for TCCF, which making continuouslyimprovement of foreign students for learning Chinese character, thereby promoting theirChinese level.
