The Use Of Secondary Resources Strategy In Un Documents Translation

The author worked on a lot of United Nation materials while interning at the UnitedNation New York Headquarter Chinese Translation Service. Duirng this intenrship,the author found that translation assisting tools are playing an important part in UnitedNation translation. However, they are not valued much as they should be in translationpractice in China. And their working strategy is not otfen studied by Chinese scholars.Thus, the paper discusses the key roles translation assisting tools play in UNtranslation through enumerating, compairng and case studying. And the purpose ofthis paper is to share some ideas with peer translators and encourage the use oftranslation assisting tools.
